Authora Australis believes in open, community-based writing.  

 

We acknowledge the Gadigal people, the traditional owners of the land on which Authora Australis is produced. 

 

We want to publish great work from all kinds of different people, and our submissions are blind to ensure that everyone gets a chance no matter what their background or experience might be.

 

We like good stories, irony and complex characterisation, but not as smokescreens for prejudice. We don't take work that disrespects people on the basis of their religion, race, sexuality, gender, ability, size or shape.

 

We're mindful of cultural appropriation.
